Coaching Through the A3 – A Workshop

The A3 is a structured problem solving methodology from the world of Lean. Learn how you can coach individuals and teams through solving problems and reaching consensus using the A3 format in this interactive workshop.

This session is a 2-for-1; not only will you learn about A3s, but you will also learn how to ask coaching questions. This workshop is especially useful for Scrum Masters whose teams are facing difficult inter-team problems, Coaches, Leaders, and anyone with a problem to solve!

You will walk out of the session with:
• Practice starting your own A3
• Experience coaching another individual through their A3
• Practice asking open-ended coaching questions with feedback on your coaching
• 1:1 coaching of your own real problem with next steps identified

Darcy Kruse

Lean and Agile Coach

Darcy Kruse is a Kansas City area native. After graduating from the University of Missouri – Columbia she delved into Lean Manufacturing as a Process Engineer at Intel Corporation’s Albuquerque, New Mexico factory. Darcy progressed in her career at Intel as a Product Development Engineer where she first encountered both Agile and Lean Product Development as a team member on a Scrum team.

She later became a Lean & Agile Coach and launched Intel's first eight SAFe Agile Release Trains. Over a period of 4 years she helped scale the organization to nearly 30 Agile Release Trains. She also worked within Intel’s SAFe systems as a Release Train Engineer and Scrum Master.

Darcy currently resides outside of San Francisco and teaches Scrum and SAFe to individuals and teams across the United States. She looks forward to sharing her experiences with Lean and Agile in her Coaching Through the A3 workshop, and to learning from the other presenters and attendees at Lean Agile KC.
